Small town. While it does have a grocery store, most folks find themselves either going south to Blackfoot or north to IF to do major shopping. They also go north to IF or south to Pocatello for entertainment.

If you have pets there are a few vets in town.

Major source of employment is the potato industry; packing houses, freezer and dehydrated.

I thought about writing a huge long post, but why don't you direct message me more specific questions and I'll try to help out?

Well, there are small towns, and then there are SMALL towns. Shelley would be the latter, although some new homes are going up around the edges. A few small businesses, an Arctic Circle, a grocery and a couple-three gas stations. My guess is most of the new homes are occupied by people working in Idaho Falls looking for more affordability.

Maybe someone knows of other links to community info for Shelley? The city site is pretty limited.

Try a few of these sites:

City of Shelley -- Welcome to the City of Shelley Homepage - City official site
ShelleySchools.org - School district

I will send a more specific dm soon, just got back after a lot of out of town trips.
