does anyone have accurate information of exactly what needs to be done
if someone has a California commercial driver's license can they just go to the DMV turn in there driver's they're out of state commercial driver's license and receive a commercial Idaho driver's license without taking any written or driving test.

I've been hearing a lot of different things like you might have to take a written test and I also heard that you don't have to do anything I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done

I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to the Idaho DMV and just ask them I went there before but the line was so long that I left I like to find out the answer to the question before I turn in my CDL just so I know what I'm in for I didn't realize the commercial driver's license would be such a problem

Within 30 days of arriving in Idaho you need to surrender your CDL from previous state to get your Idaho CDL. You'll need proof of residency, post office boxes are not acceptable.

I would advise getting your Star on it, you know, "The Real ID "

If you're adding HazMat endorsement that wasn't previously held, then you'll have a written test.

You will need to take the written test, have proof of residency, and my truck driving family has to take and pass a medical exam and pass a security clearance, but I don't know if that is for his company or for the state.

Don't just go down to the DMV. You make an appointment online and you will get an approximate time.

Proof of residency, they want to see things, like utility bills, tax bills, government issued mail of some sort, bank statements with your name and that address. Probably escrow papers and a copy of your deed would work if you have just purchased a house.

Take two forms of identification and a passport or birth certificate if you have one and try to get the star card,.

Not saying you're wrong, but where does it state that coming from another state they need to take a written test? I'm asking since I just poured through the 7/2021 version of the CDL handbook and saw nothing with the exception of having 30 days.

When my husband and I moved here, everything was transitioning from Class A to the now current CDL, so yes we had to take the written test. But that was decades ago.

When we moved here, both my son and I both had to take a written test in order to get an Idaho driver's license. I just get a regular one but my son has a ruck drive's license. Why do you think they should give you an Idaho driver's license if you don't know any Idaho traffic laws?

I never implied they should give anyone a license. When we moved here, had I not been getting a CDL, they informed me that all I had to do was surrender the previous state's license and get the Idaho one. Again, this was decades ago, back then your DL number was your SSN.
