Sandpoint itself is a wonderful rural community with an abundance of great year-around activities for the outdoor enthusiast. It is somewhat remote and services are limited, so you have to be okay with that.
Exactly my husband's experience.
Wow...the stock is tanking. Dennis and Georgia are really flying that company into the ground.

From what I've seen over the last 15 years, their product quality is not what it was either. I've not bought from them in several years and not seen anything recently to change that. Prices still high end, quality not so much! NONE of their jewelery is sterling anymore.

I quite agree--I went to a local SoCal Coldwater Creek yesterday, and found nothing at all that I might want, either to own or to give away. And they even had a sale on, 30% off everything. It wasn't worth it. In previous years I've always been able to find nice gifts for family, but this time around, nothing. No suede or leather jackets/vests, only microfiber and other fake stuff. Last summer I checked out the Sandpoint store, hoping they might have revived their Outlet section from the Cedar St Bridge in the old days, but it was just the usual stock. And the prices are, as zoso says, still high! They need to do some rethinking if they want to stay in business...too bad...

See, we knew this last year. Now the new numbers are out, and it doesn't look good:
Coldwater Creek plunges after company's 1Q warning - Business - Personal finance - Earnings - msnbc.com (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43081905/ns/business-personal_finance/ - broken link)

And they know exactly why:

Quote:
CEO Dennis Pence, who co-founded the company in 1984, said the numbers indicate that customers were unenthused by Coldwater Creek's merchandise. The company brought in a new chief merchandising officer in February, though the results of that change won't be significantly noticeable until late this year, the company has said.
So good luck to CC--hope they can turn it around.
