If you have a family with young children, have a telecommuting job, which city would you choose to live? The main focus is on good school district. We'll rent for awhile then buy. Ideally we want to purchase a house (300's) with at least 1/2 to 1 acre property to eventually have a horse or two. Please include details regarding your ideal choice in school/s. I appreciate all you’re information.

Greatschools.com lists academic data by school and district and includes parent reviews (which of course should always be taken into consideration but with a grain of salt).

We chose Emmett for our new town..
Less snow that Sandpoint.
Less snow than Sandpoint six years from now
Better schools than the city we now live in.
Schools not as good as Boise but the property taxes aren't as high either.
Nice homes at 300k with lots of room between neighbors.

boise school district is the best in the state...
As for other things you're looking for... boise area can offer it.. but cannot compare the the beauty of north idaho...
plenty of discussion on all areas to get a vibe... just a matter of weighing your options...
