It happened! My daughter woke me last night (yeah...we go to bed early here in the woods) because she heard the FIRST PEEPER OF THE SEASON!
Poor guy was all alone and champagne didn't sound good after already being in bed and all, so we're holding off till some buddies join him...hopefully tonight.
Break out the bubbly, north Idahoans....Spring is here!!!
Uh...snow is pretty much illegal after the peepers start, right?

If my child had woke me up in the middle of the night saying she heard a peeper out side I would have called the POLICE !

Not sure if Mother Nature is playing by the rules this year MRR. After all, usually when I see the first Robin I need to get the mower ready to roll. HA! Not this year, in fact had a Robin in the middle of yesterday's snow storm on my apple tree with a rather dumbfounded look

If that's true about the illegality of snow, could you mail me a peeper?

Well, I would...but as of tonight we still only have the one. Hopefully some buddies will be joining him soon.

Congratulations, MRR!

Glad one of those peepers came through this year.

The peepers are coming, the peepers are coming! It's supposed to be in the 60s today, they should be singing good. Yesterday (Sunday) was great, warmest day of the year (hit 60), we took the dogs down to Sandpoint to walk on the beach and chase sticks. They got to make some new friends.

Still only the one lonesome frog out there last night. It was a gorgeous day though and it's 60 degrees here right now!
Here's what we did yesterday near Spokane:

That's not me though...that's my daughter. I gave up on jumping when I learned that those involuntary unmounted landings hurt way more after 40 than in my carefree younger days. I like to keep my horses on the ground now.

Look Mom, I'm FLYING!

misty, after joking with you on horses vs quads, I have to admit you're one up on me. I spent time fixing mine over the weekend...you (or rather your daughter) were riding! Are you in Backcountry Horsemen? A couple from their group came to our last ATV club meeting, seemed like nice people.
