MMM, sounds great! Camp cooking is always good, but I've done most of mine out of the back of the pickup where you have plenty of grub. Ever read any of Pat McManus's stories about camp cooking? That's what I think about with a trip like this. What-cha-got stew and all the rest.

We have an overnight, on-the-trail camping trip in the planning stages for August with the club. I'm supposed to be planning it...no idea just where we'll end up yet. I may have to develop a taste for single malt scotch. It's a lot easier to carry a fifth than a 12 pack of micro-brew.

Oh yes.
One small flask of Single Malt beats the daylights out of a 12 pack of brew 102.
Now when it gets really cold you appreciate the single malt later over the beer.
At my age then I don't have to get up as often and stand out in the night air

I hear ya brother! Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. I hate that "I really have to go but don't want to get out of the warm sleeping bag" feeling. It gets a touch nippy during elk season!

You're on about that. I like an adult beverage (or 2 or 3 or...) as much as the next guy, but not while riding. Too much of this country isn't forgiving if you make a mistake. I'll get some pics up. Those "sky curves" (where all you see outside the curve is sky, due to the steepness of the slope) still get to me.

There was a casualty on the trip, a quad was rolled a few hundred yards down a mountain. It happened on that trail in the 4th pic, trail isn't bad, but it's on a steep hillside and not very forgiving. Seems the guy hugged or caught the inside edge of the hill, rolled...and rolled...and rolled. End result was a wadded up Grizzly, at least the rider wasn't hurt.
