What does the rest of America think? Is Idaho really a boring place to live? I did a google search for fun places in Idaho and here are the results:

hmmmmmm maybe you are not searching correctly or the image you posted is some kind of joke
Besides, the word "fun" seems like a juvenile way to search for activites in various states.
What exactly does "Fun" mean? If I was going on a trip to London I would not google "fun places in London"

I searched using the same criterea you did and came up with this on the first page of Google:

Results 1 - 10 of about 352,000 for fun places in idaho. (0.30 seconds)

Anyone recall the old poem a guy wrote about Idaho which ends something like this:

"If you are bored of Idaho, you're bored of life."

It's somewhere in my file, will have to dig it up.

I often find that my fellow Americans, in ever increasing numbers, define fun as "being entertained". While there is some of that here, most of what you have in Idaho is a nearly limitless possibility of ways to entertain yourself by BEING ACTIVE on boats and watercraft, ATVs and motorcycles, skis and snowboards, by hunting and fishing, etc. If you live here and can't find any fun, it's a sad state of affairs.

A little story: My kids were on vacation in SoCal to visit family. I got a call "it's boring here, nothing to do." When I brought up all the local stuff they could do I was reminded that so many places you go for "fun" in SoCal (aside from a local park/playground) you first sit in traffic to get there, then spend 5-20 minutes finding parking, then stand in a ticket or entry line, then fight crowds, then leave and fight traffic home. Yeah...some "fun"...

It's all in how you define it...

It may be boring to you for some of the same reasons I found Montana so boring. It is really a place where the you have to have a love of the outdoors: hunting, fishing, hiking, etc. If those are not some of your ideas of "fun things to do", you will be bored. If however, you are an "outdoorsy" person, and want to have a certain style of solitude and peaceful tranquility, you will like it.

I'm not ready for solitude, peace, and tranquility apparently. I've moved back to North Carolina, with all of it's flaws.

Why don't you move to Boise? There's got to be some stuff to do there.

What fun? I've been living here 14 years and still looking for it!

My idea of the ultimate in fun is find a few people to play Chutes and Ladders, Monopoly, Parcheesi, Canasta, and that kind of excitement you can find anywhere in this country, Idaho included.

Trace_Rinaldi, Have a safe trip. Enjoy.

I love Idaho and seem to have a very good time living here. I love the seasons especially the snow. I have so many fun things to do I have to choose what to do next and wish I had more time for my fun things list. Gads this is sort of a goofy thread but it is fun to read. Hehehehehe

Chris
