It's a sodden and dreary Memorial Day. It seems like it always rains here on Memorial Day.
And yet the local grocery store parking lots were busting at the seams with vacationers picking up last minute supplies and the one intersection with a traffic light here in Priest River was backed up with optimistic Washingtonians hauling their boats, ATV's, and RVs up to Priest Lake.

Crazy people.

Hey, I resemble that remark, hehe. Only the only thing I'll be hauling later today and all next week is my butt. This weather has really got me in a dreary mood about my trip, but oh well.

We are having rain here too. I did get out, in the rain, and plant three plants that have been lounging on our porch waiting. HAD to do it. This is perfect weather for it.

This is an interesting link to figure your weather. Hope it is ok to post. Been pretty right on for us here.

Do I Need an Umbrella?

I saw the title of the thread and guessed it was about weather. I offer camaraderie for the doldrums--the weather here in the SF bay can't seem to get past spring rains either.

WE just had a couple of hours of SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing. I dashed out and hauled a few loads of mulch over from neighbors. Resting and then might go out and plant some more of our garden. If the rain is not happening again. Clouding up some but very comfortable to work outside.

My own daughter kind of resembles it too. She's a senior at Whitworth (lives in Spokane full time now) and came in with a bunch of friends from Spokane to tent camp at Springy Point. And then she complains about how cold and wet it was.

This was one of the wettest, most miserable Memorial Days I can remember. Had some time to ponder...a bad day in Idaho still beats a beautiful day in Buffalo.

Every time it quit raining for an hour I got my stuff out to go work on the deck, need to pour footings now. About that time the clouds opened up. Went back inside to work on the bathroom that I've been dragging my feet on.

If it's ever sunny and warm on Memorial Weekend, we question the date

Congrats on #3000!

Last year we were in NID right after Memorial Day Weekend, and the weather was gorgeous--light breezes, sunny crisp early summer days, lilacs everywhere, rivers running high, just perfect! Sigh. But I have to say that we've been in NID in early June several times when it's just been rain and gloom every day. Even so, the air is always nice!
