Police Say Man Smelled Of Alcohol, Was Combative After Crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- An illegal immigrant is facing vehicular homicide charges in the death of a college student.

Victor Benitez appeared in court Thursday morning for a preliminary hearing in the death of Tennessee State University student-athlete Joycelyn Gardiner.

Three witnesses took the stand and detailed the events surrounding Gardiner’s death.

One witness told the court that he saw Benitez run a red light and slam into Gardiner’s car.

The crash occurred early Saturday at the intersection of Old Hickory Blvd. and Nolensville Road.

Gardiner died at a hospital several hours after crash.

Officers who responded to the crash said it was obvious Benitez had been drinking.

Unfortunately, the only thing that's surprising about this is the fact that the cops announced he's an illegal alien. That's something many jurisdictions like to keep quiet.

Just, wow. You never see immigration status news reports.
It's pretty obvious that someone "messed up" and will be dismissed soon for "alarming" the American public.

Default Deport the Criminals!

Reason number 345,989 to secure our borders. Another bright life snuffed out not by a fellow American but by someone here ilegally, what a shame. Here's an interesting fact, the immigrant who killed this young lady was convicted in February of 2006 for burgulary, then nine months later was thrown in jail for public intoxication and combative behavior, but the government refused to deport him. Just taking the lives Americans won't take, I guess.
