At first I thought it was liking cheap labor that was the force behind declaring all those 'Sanctuary Cities', but considering that illegals take more in public services than they actually contribute, I am wondering if there is some federal funding that is cut off or increased depending on a cities' status regarding illegals.
Wrong. Both parties are pushing to legalize these criminals, and it is for cheap labor for business.
McCain was the front man in the Rep. Party for getting them amnisty.
They support these creeps because our system requires that Congresspeople raise ridiculous amounts of money for re-election and business contributes the most to BOTH parties. The Supreme Court ruling now allows business to contribute as much as they want, openly. The only way around this is to have ONLY public funding for elections.
There are reasons why some of us liberals are against illegals. The hospital closings, due to illegals not paying bills, are mainly in poor neighborhoods. Many black businesses in construction and others have had to close because they cannot compete with the low salaries the illegals are paid.
Remember Katrina? Many blacks had businesses and eagerly awaited rebuilding their neighborhoods. Republican George Bush got a law passed to allow the federal government to hire illegals instead of using local labor.
Why do you think Sharpton has been so quiet on this issue? He is waiting which way the wind blows on this issue with 'his people'.
If we don't stop calling each other names and smearing each other on this issue we may lose. Please don't say 'liberals' or other minorities are supporting these illegals, because there is much talk against them.
Take a look at the bottom of this site, which lists sanctuary cities. They are both Republican and Democrat:
We all need to band together on this issue as fellow Americans. We should not be taking shots at each other. To do so is giving power to the enemy, no?
That is just too wrong. we work too hard for the government to take our money to support these illegal people when it could be going to feed and educate our own american kids. Too much of our money and resources are going to these people. no wonder america is going down the drain. they are milking us
Wrong. Both parties are pushing to legalize these criminals, and it is for cheap labor for business.
Have to agree totally - it's BOTH parties.
The only interest group politicians are actively involved in are SELF interest groups (their OWN)
As far as most are concerned it's just "unfortunate" that the hoi polloi can actually elect them (or not)
