It really is hard to believe that they actually think this way.
Think what way? Clouded in this statement is the fact that there are more immigrants today than at any other time. More. Legal immigrants. Than ever.

This post warrants discussion, but the OP and this thread is, for a lack of a better word, unfounded.
I think a better approach would be to curb illegal immigration first, as legal immigration accounts for a paltry 0.3% increase in population.

Any conflicts with the natives and the Europeans were well over by the tiime that Elllis Island was used as a means to migrate here legally. As for the so-called invasion of Europeans into this country there were no immigration laws back then and if one were to ask a native indian descendant today about the past they would say "guard the borders" if you don't want this country run over by more foreigners.
Ellis Island was not the only legal American Port of Entry; and the Statue of Liberty was meant to welcome only the Ellis Island refugees. If is was, then it is time to remove it form NY Harbor.

Agreed, the poem on the bottom of that statue no longer applies today with our burgeoning population. Keep the statue and remove the poem or get rid of both for all I care. I am tired of it being used by libs and ethnocentrics using it as blackmail to force us to accept immigration in unlimited numbers whether they have papers or not and whether or not we need more immigrants.
