CBO estimates that enacting S. 3992 would increase net direct spending by $912 million
over the 2011-2020 period

CBO and JCT estimate that enacting the bill would reduce deficits
by about $1.4 billion over the 2011-2020 period

Did you actually read the report? This nonsense is based on an “increase in authorized workers” and the estimated “taxes” these newly amnestied DREAMies will pay, and the credits employers will receive. Given that our own citizens can’t find jobs, what on earth would lead them to assume that over 1 million DREAMies will be gainfully employed beginning January 1, 2011? Give me a break.

Did you miss the part which indicates that enacting S. 3992 will INCREASE net direct spending by $912 million during the period 2011-2020? It also indicates that any benefit from these fantasy taxes would not have an impact prior to 2020.

Common sense dictates it will COST taxpayers billions to implement and operate this program. This is clearly manufactured by pro-amnesty Democrats in an attempt to garner support for the Nightmare Act. It will easily be debunked when they are forced to estimate the actual costs to taxpayers.

This is more of a dream than the DREAM Act.

Right. Why not add over 1 million more. We can then look forward to another million citizens and legal residents in the unemployment line.

So the CBO is wrong yet the blatantly biased anti-immigrant CIS study you posted is right? Talk about using common sense!!!

Yes, “common sense” is creating estimates based on a mythical number of newly amnestied DREAMies ALL being gainfully employed from January 1, 2011. That makes perfect sense in the midst of record unemployment.

Exactly. What common sense dictates that Americans must make a priority of education of foreigners and their offspring? Particularly in the middle of the greatest recession in decades? Even the college educated find themselves locked out of the job market. By what magical fantasy will someone with a GED in Spanish or two year diploma in ethnic studies find immediate placement in a bad job market?

Typical behavior expected from the anti-immigrant crowd. Anything that doesn't line up with your beliefs must be wrong.

We shall see which report is accurate.

As usual, it’s been fun, but it’s now after midnight. Gotta get my rest so I will be fresh to tackle all of the calls, emails, and faxes to be sent to oppose your DREAM Act. Toodles.
