With that said, can you understand how illegal immigration is nothing but an added burden? It never made sense to me that our governments would do nothing while millions of people come in that will only add to our poverty? It reduces the quality of living for pretty much everyone and of course, those illegal immigrants WILL find a way to use state and federal assistance such as food assistance and health care. So, why does ignoring illegal immigration make sense? Do pro-illegal immigrant people and the federal government want the WHOLE country looking like Los Angeles and California?

The US has a huge drug trade which will never go away unless its all legalized, economic growth in Mexico and serious economic and labor reforms will get Mexico on the path to be able to say the same things in a generation.

Mexico (and other Latin American countries) are merely shifting their burden into our laps. Are the bleeding hearts turning a blind eye, or just that oblivious?
That's because they bring the reasons they were poor with them when they come.
The tendency to start having babies at very young ages, the tendency to quit school, have many kids that they can never afford.
They aren't the middle class of their own countries for the same reasons they aren't here - only in their own countries, they know the language and aren't illegal.
In Mexico for example, if somone finishes school, obtains job skills and a job, delays the start of a family until all that and marriage, and had only the number of kids he/she can afford, they will surely be middle class - all the same things they would have to do here.
The major difference is back in their country there are no free handouts just for giving birth, no food stamps, no free housing with utilities paid, no WIC, no Medicaid. But often in their countries, there is also government subsidized housing, sliding health care costs based on income, public schools and even tuition free universities.
<<Children of illegal immigrants are twice as likely to live in poverty than American-born. >>
Yet illegal aliens manage to send millions back to their home countries every year. Maybe they should hang onto some of that money to care for their children.

Why? The tax payers are taking care of them. Up to 2 free meals a day, a free education and in many cases after school care.

If conservatives agree to open their eyes and admit their hands are dirty, maybe we will open ours.

Yeah, I asked one Spanish-speaking woman in the grocery store one day that was using an EBT card (government food-assistance debit card) if she could get that back in her country. She smiled and said, "No."
