In other words, amnesty equals votes. Anti-immigration?

Quote:
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Republican speakers at a conference on reaching Hispanic voters urged the party to tone down its rhetoric on immigration and to take up comprehensive reform in Congress, warning that the party could lose ground with the country's increasingly diverse citizenry if it doesn't.

I see, so the GOP has to disregard our laws where Latinos are concerned in order to gain their vote? Their tribal mentality goes beyond our borders so we shoud treat their ethnic kind special who are here in violation of our immigration laws? The GOP would be nuts to listen to their crappola. First off, the Latino vote in numbers is nothing compared to non-Latino citizens in this country and second Latinos will always be a majority Democrat voting bloc because they like the handouts and social programs that the Democrats will give them.

We are not against immigration. We are against ILLEGAL immigration. Why? Because we are against people breaking the law! Just like we are for people going to the bank, but not for people breaking into the bank.

You see? What laws are "latinos" asking anyone to disregard? This is the very kind of Rhetoric that the GOP finds in unproductive.

this statement is just plain uninformed... And to slurry all Latinos in this manner is beyond ridiculous.

can I ask what your synopsis of the obvious has to do with the GOP leader's recommendations?

Well what rhetoric are they talking about?
Are their some folks who are in fact anti-immigration of any kind, or are they refering to anti-illegal immigration?
Ther is a difference and it matters.
If its anti-illegal immigration then they are mistaken. I would wager that those unemployed legal citizens might feel a little bitter towards illegals taking what few jobs are available.

Isn't that exactly what ALL pandering politicians are doing? Exactly what else do they consider to be "latino" issues if they don't mean the special right of "latinos" to break the laws to come here and their special right to commit document fraud and their special right to be taught only in their own language and be given all kinds of government programs?

It is these pandering politicians that believe the hispanic voters are a monolith, that none of them care about the USA or jobs for citizens, or learning English, or high taxes and unemployment rates and wages.

This where the elites get it wrong. I recall back in '07 during the last amnesty putsch the Congressional switch board was shut down due to all the calls in opposition.

If the elites think only conservatives were calling they are smoking. Pander to illegals lose independents and depress conservative turnout and the GOP loses. No GOP Presidential candidates will get past the primary with a pledge to legalize illegals.

The GOP needs to follow Lamar Smith's lead. Make this a jobs issue because that's what it is and they will be ok.
