Any ideas on how to avoid the fraud that would come if birthright citizenship is ended. There will surely be a market for legal males to put their names down on the childs birth certificate so citizenship can be acquired. You can ask for papers at the hospital, but proving paternity may be a problem.
Perhaps adding paternity tests as a standard post-natal test in the hospital wouldn't really add much of or any kind of burden. But then you could have the fake daddy show up to the hospital, sign papers and give blood while the real daddy is standing in the background as "uncle" or something.
I guess the only way to be sure would be to have the father perform the blood test at the same time he shows his proof of legality.
Well right now as it stands they can just put "father unknown" as the child if born here is automatically a USC (and they do, often). I guess it would be just another situation where the illegals would try to "game the system", being such law abiding souls as we're always being told.
Of course if it was proved by DNA that the USC father lied they could be prosecuted to the full extent of the law (pardon me while I laugh my butt off here)
Illegals are desperate to give birth to a U.S. citizen, and are adept at scamming the system. They would be willing to pay to be impregnated by a citizen. I guess the only solution would be to deny citizenship to all children born to illegal alien women, with the possible exception being those married to a USC.

Why not? Don’t they pay for fake documents, stolen SSNs, etc? Don’t they pay coyotes thousands to escort them across the border to give birth? I can even see unscrupulous “doctors” opening sperm banks expressly to assist illegal aliens. Talk about a lucrative enterprise.

There are many countries that require that at least one parent be a citizen in order for their newborn to gain instant citizenship. Perhaps your answer lays in finding out how the other countries handle it.
Exaggerations? Other than the sperm banks, everything else is well-documented. On second thought, the sperm banks may even be a reality. After all, they advertise in Mexico for “birth tourism.”
