But, they are only here seeking a better life, by doing the nasty jobs Americans won’t do.

PHOENIX — A federal indictment in Arizona charges two illegal immigrants from Mexico with possessing a large number of guns.

Prosecutors said Thursday that the immigrants possessed a combined 222 assault rifles and five pistols in May and August that were later seized in the border city of Laredo, Texas.

I hope they also convict the Americans that sold them the guns. They can keep arresting all those carrying guns but if the supply doesn't stop, its meaningless.

Let's hope so, although they could have stolen them.

I haven't heard of any warehouse with hundreds of missing guns. We can catch illegals in twos with hundreds of weapons but someone is supplying. This crime will not stop unless the suppliers are caught.

Hey, do you know where SKS and AKs are made? Guess what the weapon of choice is for most Coyotes dragging bags?

Not only convict, but throw the book at them. This is an issue of national security.

From the OP's link:
"Drug smugglers seek out guns in the U.S. (http://topics.chron.com/topics/United_States - broken link) because gun laws in Mexico (http://topics.chron.com/topics/Gun_politics_in_Mexico - broken link) are more restrictive than in the United States."

Anything higher than a .38 calibre is considered a military weapon.

They have to come here to buy weapons. Where in the link does it say they were seeking a better life ~ And where better to buy weapons than the US?

I've seen a few pics of heavy machine guns, rocket launchers and hand grenades seized from the cartels in Mexico. Those weapons are not coming from the US. I'm not denying the existence of American rifles in Mexico because that's just silly, but to lay the sole blame on America is just as silly. The Mexican military is just as culpable as any American gun store. Why do they get a free pass?

It certainly is but I think its more threatening to Mexico than it is to the U.S.
