E-Verify has expanded its information sources to include driver’s license records, which strengthens the integrity of the program.
Starting June 12, 2011, E-Verify will collect driver’s license information for employees who present a state-issued driver’s license as a “List B” document. You will notice new screens that support this change; and based on customer feedback, the list of Form I-9 documents displayed in E-Verify will be expanded to include “List B” and “List C” documents consistent with Form I-9.
This is huge. If anyone who is a regular on this message board recalls, I have been complaining about this glaring weakness in the E-Verify system for a while now. Anyone who works with these systems will know that this is going to make a huge difference in improving the effectiveness of the system in weeding out stolen and altered drivers licenses. If this new upgrade works how it should the system will be very difficult to bypass.

The one problem though, recently with the new enhanced laws regarding drivers licenses...I work with senior citizens, many of them are over 90, and some don't have birth certificates...I know, hard to believe..but true...recently one of my clients needed to get a new ID card, his was expired. But, he has no birth certificate. He was a veteran, in the military, with a baptismal certificate, got a social security card with that, and now...can't get an ID...really...there needs to be some sort of common sense for our citizens who are over 90 years old..but there is not...so...this whole issue with illegals, is impacting our oldest citizens...and this guy can't get an ID card to save his life...how crazy is that?!

I'm sorry to hear that, but that issue really has no relevance to E-Verify.
