Quote:
The Obama administration announced Tuesday that federal agents swept up 2,400 illegal immigrants in a nationwide raid last month, starting what will likely be a months-long process of figuring out what to do with them.
The largest of its kind. Note the three categories.

Quote:
The illegal immigrants arrested in the sweep last month were divided into three basic categories: fugitives who had outstanding deportation orders against them, those who already had been deported and illegally re-entered the U.S., and at-large convicted criminals.
This is exactly what ICE should put all their efforts ( and enforcing border ).

I disagree. ICE should be arresting all illegals and they should be deported as our laws state they should be. Otherwise it is just a de facto amnesty for those who aren't convicted felons. 2,400 out of 50 states doesn't get me excited when there are at least 12 million of them here.

Hey, it's a start. May there be 2,400 more soon.

Bingo! True enforcement measures would not protect Dreamies, or parents of anchors. He released 500,000 criminal aliens, yet we should throw a party because a measly 2,400 nationwide were arrested? Chance are, they too, will eventually be released. When Obama stops pandering, and starts targeting ALL illegal employers, and ALL illegal aliens, then I’ll give credit where credit is due.

Not only that but they will have bypassed the expense of applying too which I have heard is not cheap.

I agree about it being nothing but smoke.

I would guess that a lot of these are convicted gang criminals who will simply return because their relatives will help them come back and also because their families are here and not back home which is what brought them here in the first place.

They need to keep families together so that the young criminals have some chance of rehabilitation. Sending them without their family support will just keep them living off the streets back home and in gangs there until they manage to get back.

Also you can see where the countries of origin have some valid gripe with this policy. We weed out the non-criminals to keep as low-wage slaves or welfare recipients but toss back the hardened criminals who now lack any family or social safety net back home. Often it was the appeal of the big easy money in the first place that had the parents of these gang criminals abandoning them to the streets back home that led to their hardened attitudes and zero work ethic.
