It is ridiculous that the pro-illegals try to claim that merely checking someone's I.D. when stopped under lawful contact (which has been done like forever already) is turning our country into a police state. I swear their arguments get loonier and loonier.
We have to show our I.D.'s when we use our credit cards, board a plane, etc. Is that equate to a police state? Ridiculous!
You agree to show ID when using a credit card as part of the agreement with the issuing bank. Nobody forces you to have a credit card.
As for air travel, yes, it's quite easy to make a case that a law requiring showing ID to get on a plane is unamerican.
Because they are the ones who protest our immigration laws. You don't see the Chinese, African folks doing that, do you? You don't see them sitting in the middle of a busy road in Georgia demanding rights that they are not entitled to...Do you? We don't hear "Press 2 for Chinese, 2 for Swahili, 3 for Vietnamese, 4 for Russian".
Those who hail from Mexico, Central and South America more often than not are the ones who refuse to assimilate. Who demand that we make them "legal" here.
Then they scream "racism!" when such thing happens. What do you expect, really? I am not saying it is right but if you kept your mouths shut and assimilated and not tried to have everyone else cater to to your needs, maybe you would be able to fly under the radar.

A large part of this is that there's a big ocean between us and them. Only those with some money can get here in the first place, and those aren't the ones that the rules are totally rigged against.

There are illegal aliens of all kinds of backgrounds...from all countries. That is not an excuse.
They stand out because they want to. They make themselves a target.
So what is the excuse about Brazil? There are millions of illegal aliens from that country in the US.
There is not an ocean between that country and the US and I have yet to hear "Press 2 for Portuguese".

Why do you hate the rule of law? This sheriff is breaking the law. Sure, it's ostensibly an attempt to uphold certain laws, but in his practice, he's breaking others. You should be scolding this guy for BREAKING THE LAW.
