Illegal immigrants aren't taking anything. Employers are GIVING the jobs to illegal immigrants so they can pay less in salary and taxes. Once EMPLOYERS stop GIVING the jobs to illegal immigrants legal citizens can take those jobs.
Fine the employers BIG! Perhaps seize their business. Whatever, but the punishment should be HUGE for those that employee illegal immigrants. Of course that means that people are going to have to pay a fair rate for those that pick produce, take care of their children, handle their landscaping, cook and clean in the restaurants, and wipe their behinds in the nursing homes.

It is up to the applicant to take the job or turn it down, however. The illegals are equally guilty. They know by accepting the job that they are breaking the law. They knew it when they initially crossed our border illegally.
I have no problem with fining the employers and even taking away their business licenses but there is an accomplice in all of this and that is the illegal workers. Illegals do no get a pass in this.
Most Americans don't have a problem paying a higher wage for American workers because it keeps Americans employed. Illegals are no bargain anyway when you factor in their social costs passed on to "we" the taxpayer. The only one benefiting are the greedy employers.

Sounds like you'd like to punish the employers for acting in their own self-interest. Instead of, say, increasing border presence, you'd rather the government punish the people who just want workers who work for less?

Correction...most Americans SAY they don't have a problem paying a higher wage for American workers. In reality however, they purchase the CHEAPEST crap possible made in India, China or elsewhere. If people honestly cared about American workers, they wouldn't lay a hand on products made out of the country unless absolutely necessary.
I can guarantee you most people would choose a cheap made in China couch at Target over a more expensive, well made couch by a craftsman in the US. I've seen it happen time and time again.

Well that is kind of the crux. If you have the free movement of labor and goods, then people have a CHOICE of which they can buy. If you institute protectionist policies, then they don't, and supporters of protectionism are left explaining exactly why they know what you should buy and whom you should employ better than you do.

No, not most. Unless you are claiming that most Americans are below middle class. Most Americans I know don't want that cheap foreign made crap that falls apart in a week. This is about illegal immigration anyway, not imported goods.
