"The absolutely maddening question in all this is: With tens of millions of American citizens suffering so greatly, why in the hell are dingbat politicians, mostly, but not all, Democrats so anxious to spend money on illegal aliens, people who have no legitimate legal or moral basis for being here"?

Great post. I hate it when pro-criminals pull the race card. The opposition is not due to racism, it's about those who break the law, suck the taxpayers dry and flaunt their criminal ways in everyone's face.

It's the economy, dammit! It's not color, unless that color is green.

Both sons are college graduates. Both have manual labor jobs, because that is all there is. Our employment problems are greatly enhanced by illegals.

If illegals weren't here, most of our economic problems would ease.

I thought the anti-immigration rhetoric was that they are taking all the blue collar jobs. Good to see that that's not the case since both kids are working in manual labor positions. Now, are you trying to say the white collar unemployment issues are caused by illegals somehow? Explain.

There is a dearth of all jobs. No new jobs because of the economy. Teachers are hired less, cuts in all areas. Companies won't hire. Parks are closing. Trickle down economy hurts us all.

Remove the illegals, there will be more jobs, more jobs means better jobs.

Same amount of jobs, actually, you'll just have Americans filling them instead of the illegals. Which you'd prefer, because you like Americans more than other people.

Nothing wrong with putting your own first. This is the United States of America where our own citizens should come first.

Should they? I mean, are they more important than non-Americans, as human beings?

I get a kick out of the people who want gov't out of business, except when the owner hires someone they don't like. Then it's ok to abandon the idea of a truly competitive marketplace, gov't intervention is THE ONLY WAY to make sure those poor American folk can compete with unskilled, uneducated immigrants!!

You might have a valid point if we were discussing the value of one human versus another , but we are not. We are discussing the fact that the job of our government is to put the needs of our nation in other words the citizens of this nation first and above those who violated our laws to come here or over stayed thier VISA.
So In this context YES the needs of US citizens are more important than those of the illegals.
