Mexico receives an estimated 10 billion dollars from it's people illegally living in the US. So the last thing Mexico wants is to stop it's people from flowing north. Mexico fights anything that remotely slows the flow down like a border fence but at the same time they built their own fence along their southern border.

That I'm aware of that's why the US should start levying heavy fees on people sending money out frequently.

Also they should regulate this and make it more difficult by making it against the law for people here illegally to send money out, open bank accounts and apply for any kind of aid whatsoever. If these people need help they can go to the Mexican Embassy.

Require a paper trail that would make it easier to detect, this BTW would hurt money launderers also.

It's understandable why Mexico opposes a border fence and more security, it's shameful that idiots like Obama and Rick Perry oppose these measures also.

You deport them come right back. Send them to the pen when they get out and get deported they come right back.

YES! recently, I googled "Escondido, California" for a newsstory, maybe with the word "illegal" and yeah, I believe that's what I used as my search terms and it shocked me to see the results! go ahead, try it! Several newsstories just on the first page of results that said things about "rapist that was deported eight times" and other reports of that magnitude.

So, yeah, I can concur.

What do you all expect from a Government that encourages this nonesense. We should of put a lid on this crap a long long time ago, before it got so out of hand. We may never get a handle on this mess now. We can thank both party's for this mess too.

How many dollars do you think even the most red blooded of the proponents is willing to propose?

Or....

Maybe instead of streamlining our immigration process, we streamilne our deportation process. That money would go a lot farther if used wisely. It shouldn't take longer than a couple days to determine if someone is a citizen. I am able to tell anyone the state I was born in and which county. It shouldn't take long for that state to fax a copy of my BC to LE to verify that. Same for people here on Visas etc. If the data bases show you are here legally you walk. If not, you are immediately escorted out. If people are worried about being inconvienenced by a stop, they should make sure their data is in order.

Some are very eager to throw their hands in the air and surrender. Others find solutions and deal with the problem.

The US should withhold all costs associated with illegals from the country of their origin.

Agreed. It makes no sense to even have a hearing when people are caught crossing our borders illegally. If they didn’t enter with permission, does a judge really need to hear a case to determine if he/she should be allowed to stay?

You can pass all the feel good laws you want but people already breaking the law aren't going to give two cents about breaking new laws. They truck cash south cross the border almost as much as they truck drugs north. Things aren't going to change until Mexico's government improves which isn't going to happen while we're still out sourcing to China and marijuana is still illegal. There is always option C, build a fence and arm it with machine guns...but that want happen either.

If the economic conditions persist and/or worsen in the US something will have to get done. You can only extend UE benefits fot so long.

Many cities here are already making cutbacks and lay offs. When these down on their luck Americans have to compete for the scraps and social services with Illegal Aliens and their Anchor Babies you will see a change.

It's Americans that were usually in the middle class now seeing this firsthand. Some of those "feelgood laws" will see action.

Also when Obama is booted out of office the incoming Conservative Republicans who ran on a stronger border/ No Amnesty platform will make the changes needed and/or enforce the laws already there.

That is basically what we do today.

The problem is that if you wish to punish repeat violators it becomes a criminal matter and requires a trial and jails to hold the perps.

That is where you get the billions expended.

Not going to happen. Costs too much.

And not all Repub candidates are on the anti-illegal kick. And none likely to be nominated will make a major issue of it.
