They need stop encouraging their citizens to come here illegally.

Mexico is a very rich country, but socialism destroyed it.

True to a point but actually people in Mexico don't have things so bad. If they have some personal responsibility and self control, they can attend and finish school there, it's much cheaper to attend a college there, they have plenty of food -- so much they are the most obese nation in the world, they have a beautiful climate, nice beaches. Their middle class is growing while ours is shrinking fast.

The only thing is to have the middle class lifestyle with all the necessities and some luxuries, there they must complete school, obtain some job skills, marry before having children (in general), delay having children until they can afford them and not have more children than they can afford.

If they don't want to do any of that however they can just come here and have their children at US taxpayer expense and they'll have all the trappings of the middle class - all the necessities and most of the luxuries, only they don't have to pay or work or stay in school.

The "development aid" you speak of would never make it to the intended target. It would likely be intercepted by the cartels or the corrupt government that belongs to the various cartels. The same thing would happen as it does in Indonesian countries with the military juntas stealing the disaster aid sent from countries around the world.

Don't expect changes to occur in Mexico. The mexican government likes things just the way they are, and U.S. politicians enjoy bending over backwards for them.

Yes and as long as the dissatisfied Mexicans keep running away into the USA, there will be no need for change. Many abandon their small children and also their elderly in their hurry to get to easy US dollars and this is not going to lead to good change.

Sure many believe that easy money is all that matters, that small children don't need a parent in the home and wiring money is enough but very often that money falls off in time.

Mexico won't be made better until it's people begin to have some real pride in their country and stay there and work to make it better. A quarter of the houses in Juarez now sit empty, many buildings are boarded up, and the former residents of that city are living the good life in the USA, they'll never return home, and never do anything real for their city or country.

If only Mexico's birth rates mirrored Uruguay over the century, illegal immigration from Mexico would been a trickle instead of a downpoor.

Uruguay - Population

Could it possibly have anything to do with the fact that 77% of the people in Mexico are Roman Catholic, compared to 47% in Uruguay?

Exactly true as you say, i have very very good friends from Mexico, who use to live there. Yes they are legal.

The cartels and there are many we do not even hear about, the very corrupt government, does not help the cause for the mexican people.

Why would we accept things to change, when they encourange their people so willingly to just run to the U.S. things will not change, as long as their people keep coming to our country illegally.

And i do know for fact that some mexicans living here, send all their money right back home to Mexico, that is what gets my gripe.
