Am I hearing him right? Does he know what happened to Rudy in 2008 for supporting illegals?

He said he can't think of anyone in America that would be able to go down their neighborhood and tell families who've been in this country for 25 years, people they may know or be friends with, to get your children and your belongings and get out of this country. Or if their children are American citizens, to leave them behind.

I know, and I agree with him, but he's going to lose supporters on the fringe right with that sentiment. Michelle Bachmann is already using it against him.

Newt's been toast ever since before he uttered that.

It was a valid point, unfortunately I don't think he offered a valid solution. Peronsally, I thought Romney provided the best explanation with the idea of focusing on attracting, securing and legalizing the most educated amongst those who want to come here and contribute. Doing so would not only acheive the obvious, but it would serve as a clear divider as to we want here and who we don't. From that, you can actually build a policy on.

Republicans aren't securing the border with Mexico and Newt knows this, so why lie about.

Maybe so, but how refreshing, to have someone being honest! and not lying about what his feelings are, unlike some people.

I never thought of it in the capicity he mentioned, until tonight, so i still have to process this.
I honestly have to think about this one, and i am being honest.

Most of my friends are really starting to pay attention to Newt, and for the most part they are pretty much liking what he is conveying.

They also like Mitt.

And he never came out and said he was for total amnesty, he mentioned in detail families that have been in this Country for 25 years, are our friends, work hard, are decent people, how would that make us feel if we knew them and now was asked to leave their families. Still have to think about this one, that is my honest answer.
