Today, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors said it will participate in lawsuits challenging the State of Arizona's anti-immigration law. Supervisor George Shirakawa stressed the importance of standing in opposition to measures that deputize local law enforcement officers as immigration agents and lead to racial profiling.
"Arizona's law is a direct assault on people's civil rights and will increase the real fears of racial profiling in communities nationwide," Shirakawa said. "We have heard the concerns of our residents. We want everyone in our community to know that Santa Clara County agencies are there to keep people safe from crime and provide emergency medical services, not to act as immigration agents."

Other cities and states need to butt out of Arizona's business. If anything they need to support their fellow Americans to rid our country of illegal aliens. Our country is being divided by illegal alien sympathizers who are acting in a traitorous manner vs law abiding Americans.

All the politicos of Santa Clara need to do then is put out the welcome mat. When the illegals start showing up, they can make sure they give them whatever they want.

500,000 in Bay Area illegally: headline in the San Jose Mercury News, Local News page 1, July 20, 2011.

I believe the story said that 280,000 of those illegal aliens live in Santa Clara County. With pro-illegal immigrant actions by the County Board of Supervisors, how many more illegal immigrants will flood Santa Clara County? When supervisors don't respect the nation's immigration laws and condemn other states that try to control their costs by restricting illegal immigration, it just makes a mockery out of US laws and trashes respect for law and order, in my opinion.

Think about it: if you condemn Arizona's immigration laws, it is sending a message loud and clear to the immigrants across the globe that Santa Clara County wants illegal aliens to settle in Santa Clara County.

Meanwhile, the supervisors that take the pro-illegal alien stance never face punishment for the financial chaos they cause. They will just go on to the state legislature or the US Congress with their same illogical and damaging financial decisions. And the tax payers have to just bend over and go on paying the salaries of these errant spendthrifts, in my opinion.

When is enough enough? What happens to Santa Clara County when there are 750,000 illegal aliens? The city of San Jose can't even afford police officers, fire fighters and city staffers. Of the 280,000 illegal immigrants in Santa Clara County, San Jose probably has the most because San Jose has close to a million people.

How can the County of Santa Clara and the city of San Jose welcome every illegal immigrant with open arms when our city and county are struggling with annual budget deficits? The city can't even repair its pot holes in a satisfactory fashion. TRIP rates San Jose as having the worst roads in the nation of any city of 500,000 or larger. Money is scarce...

The city of San Jose is trying to get a grip on pensions which they say are out of control, but the city leaders, county board of supervisors, Silicon Valley state legislators and our US Congress members TOTALLY IGNORE the illegal immigrant invasion and the costs associated with illegal immigrants.

Think about it: would there be fewer potholes if 280,000 less folks were driving the roadways? Could we do with fewer teachers, police officers and fire fighters if we had 280,000 fewer folks in the county?

Think about this: the illegal immigrant population is only going to grow, especially when Silicon Valley state legislators push for driver's licenses for illegal immigrants. And as long as our elected officials refuse to make E-verify mandatory, greedy & rich employers will continue to hire illegal immigrants. If you truly want to soak the rich, then demand they hire LEGAL IMMIGRANTS and US CITIZENS and NOT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

Please write, call, email or attend your leaders meeting and start asking questions.

Being a Santa Clara County resident, I'm not surprised by their decision. Out of the 500,000+ illegal aliens who live in the Bay Area, over half live in this county. This county is a mostly beautiful, family-oriented, and diverse county. It's a pity though that these non-assimilating illegal immigrants are ruining the quality of life for everyone, particularly legal immigrants who have worked very hard to come here and contribute to our society. I wonder if the people will ever wake up to the problem and demand the deportation of all illegals.
