Crappy beer, and now this:
Quote:
Budweiser is courting Hispanic/Mexican consumers by mocking white people in a new Spanish language billboard.
The billboard you see was photographed in Denver at Colfax Avenue and Monroe Street. The word Guera is a derogatory term for a white woman used in Mexico. Simply put, it is the equivalent of saying “white bitch” in English.
The full message says;
“as good as the white ***** checking you out.”

If true: can someone say 'lawsuit' against Budweiser?
BTW: that 'billboard' may be a farce---------like the one advertising a famous brand of hard liquor as 'liquid panty remover'.

Yeah Bud Light sucks.
Anyway...
Guera in itself is not an offensive word. It just means a fair-skinned woman, or a blond woman. It's Mexican slang.
Budweiser is just trying to make money. They are trying to tap into another market where they are losing ground to imports.
Your naive if you think a corporation is going to care about this type of stuff, all they care about is the bottom line. But if you want to show Budweiser, boycott them.

I hardly call it anti-white, but I can see how it can be offensive to someone who doesn't know spanish culture.
To me it can mean light skinned, light eyes pertaining to a Latina as well. It is a positive term in spanish and is meant to be a compliment.
If it were 100% racist if would have said gringa, which is very negative.

Honestly about the same as a Black guy calling a lighter skinned Black girl a "Mocha".
It is really a term of endearment and thought to be a compliment.

As far as I can recall, a blond is a <Rubia> or a <Blanca>. They have all sorts of color designations in Mexico from blanca all the way through moreno to negro. The term used here is not about color.
Basically, conservatives are playing the race card and the victim card. Maybe they should talk to Rev. Sharpton for info on how to do it.

It does exist. I saw this billboard going on 35 south into fort worth, texas. "guera" is not a derogatory word. it means light skinned woman, that's it.
