if we had a large influx of Canadian illegal immigrants, rather than Mexican ones? Would you get as riled up? Just wondering. Would you go out in the streets and protest, or would you be bragging about "how much better our healthcare system is" and "how the Canadians are finally realizing that the US is the only land of opportunity," or something like that?

If Canada was shipping all of its destitute to the United States and Canadian illegals were affecting the quality of life in the United States, then yes, I'd be riled up.
Don't try to make it about race or anything like that. We're importing poverty, and we're straining under the weight of "our own" poor + Mexico/Cental Americas, with all the acompanying effects of poverty: crime, crowded schools, etc.
And why are our laws set up in such a way that so many people find it necessary to jump the border, rather than coming in legally? It's not like we have a lack of space.
I might even be more angry if they insisted on trying to vote in our elections and brought their loopy politics with them. Illegal is as illegal does. No more thank you our boat is full now.
Consider for a moment the difference between Canada and Mexico. Canadians are economically equal to the USA, where Mexico is a pit and insists on sending their impoverished, their criminals and the desperate to our country. Canada might be a better choice as far as illegals go, so I may retract my statement above.
