Well, then it isn't a majority of Americans who want them to stay either as it is an even split of 23% vs 23% either wanting them all deported or for all of them to stay. So your claims aren't accurate either.

Since when is denying citizenship unless one goes through the process selling out? Do people even read articles before posting or is drama queen the flavor of the day?
It's too expensive to deport. Deny entitlements and many will leave.

Selling out is when a politician declares that he will "find a place" for persons who entered the country illegally and committed numerous felonies in the process of obtaining work here to remain here instead of facing deportation or prosecution as the law demands.

And deportation is easy: just stop hiring illegals and give them no safety net and they will be gone by next Monday. So here's the real reason Rand & Co. have had such a change of heart with respect to illegals: they can make it nearly impossible for them to become citizens yet allow them to stay and work for substandard wages and no benefits that Americans won't accept.

No, scientific polls are random samples that include people from all ideologies, all areas of the country and walks of life. An internet poll is only subjective to those that happen to read that news site. When you have all the major polling companies conducting scientific polls coming up with the same results, it is pretty safe to say they are fairly accurate.

The claim as made is the media creation of "words into someones mouth". CBS's reporter who wrote the article is sensationalizing the words of Paul.

From the Washington Post Sen. Rand Paul: Illegal immigrants should be allowed to obtain legal status - The Washington Post
Thank you. Good grief, when will we learn to stop relying on headlines and get the information from the horse's mouth?

Rand Paul is talking about fixing the Guest Worker program. He isn't talking about Amnesty. He is more focused on border control, more so than the Gang of 8.

These are Rand's exact words:

“I didn’t use the word citizenship at all this morning,” he said. “Basically what I want to do is to expand the worker visa program, have border security and then as far as how people become citizens, there already is a process for how people become citizens.”

Paul said the “main difference is I wouldn’t have people be forced to go home.”

“You’d just get in line. But you get in the same line everyone is in,” he said.

Numerous felonies??!! Oh no they came across the border illegally to work how horrible.

This at the beginning of the article YOU linked.
Paul's path to citizenship would come with conditions that could make it long and difficult for illegal immigrants. Chief among these, Congress would have to agree first that progress was being made on border security.
That's selling out? pfffftt

And because you're a Jedi you can make it happen by just saying so?
Many come here for entitlements, those are the ones that need to be stopped.

I'd like to see proof of this nearly impossible for them to become citizens.

yet allow them to stay and work for wages that they voluntarily accept. But thanks for looking after the illegals well being. Wouldn't want people to make their own choices on where to work and for how much.

I think what he is saying as far as citizenship is; you follow the current process and get in the back of the line, but your able to remain here through the process. That is really not any different from what other pro amnesty politicians have been supporting.

Homeland Security disagrees with you. They say that it is cheaper to deport them than to allow them to remain here. However I agree remove the incentives for them to remain here and many will voluntarily leave and it will be a deterrant for more to come.

The so-called scientific polls are not coming up with the same results, however. Those who are pro- illegal immigration and amnesty have just as much opportunity to reply to those internet polls as those with the opposing view. The poll I am referring to was on the main MSN page of the internet.
