Jay Leno reveals the new name AP will use to replace illegal immigrant:
“And in a groundbreaking move, the Associated Press, the largest news gathering outlet in the world, will no longer use the term ‘illegal immigrant.’ That is out. No longer ‘illegal immigrant.’ They will now use the phrase ‘undocumented Democrat.’ That is the newest – ‘undocumented Democrat.’”

Actually those here by way of EWI (Entry Without Inspection) when found are charged with a Federal Misdemeanor, so its not a civil offense, it is actually a federal offense. Those here as VO (Visa Overstays) have an Immigration violation, which is equivalent to a civil offense, which means that they are to simply be deported with no charges unless here longer then a certain amount of time for which they are banned from re-entry for 3yrs to life.
To claim racism is pure ignorance, but then again there isn't much you have been correct abut in anything you have posted.

Fair enough, but EWI is a rarer occurrence as by some count 20 million have already evaded it.

Me too. I lost a lot of respect for the AP today.

EWI accounts for 60% of those here. Rarer occurrence? Hardly! Every person caught at the border is an EWI, also.

This sounds like Orwell's Newspeak to me. By re-branding the behavior of people who have, quite literally, immigrated illegally to the US, it seems the AP is bowing to pressure to destigmatize something that, honestly, should have some stigma attached to it.
I certainly don't hate foreigners, and I understand the temptation to sidestep the law for a better life, but why do people feel the need to defend illegal immigration? I myself lived abroad, and it wouldn't have even occurred to me stay without going through the (tiresome) bureaucratic channels necessary to be there legally.
Incidentally, I tend to vote liberal on a lot of issues, but the fact that unwavering encouragement of illegal immigration has become some sort of litmus test in certain leftist circles (like knee-jerk unilateral condemnation of Israel) really baffles me.
Is there any middle ground between apoplectic rants against anything Mexican and petitions to grant driver's licenses, housing, and welfare to the "undocumented"?

Point is they should not be here.
Pointing the finger the other way does nothing to solve the problem. These people are illegal & knowingly broke our rule of law & that shouldn't be compromised.

It´s not pointing the finger the other way, it´s solving a significant part of the problem within minimal effort.
There are a lot of restriction that prevent pregnant women from immigrating here to have a baby, it´s not really common. What happens generally is pregnancy begins here and finishes here, and that generally implies an income source under the table before welfare child benefits kick in.

You have pointed the finger the other way.
The problem is they are here illegally, using American benefits, voting in elections, etc....
Do you believe they should be here?

There is much evidence that many come here pregant already. When one comes here illegally they bypass the rules for legal immigration while preganant. Anyway both ways of obtaining U.S. citizensip for their U.S. born/unborn must stop.
