Even with ethnicities all illegals are not treated equal...... Either way they broke the law and should be deported.

It's not a race issue. It's about the law being broken. Don't care what color their skin is, they need to go back home if they are here illegally.

The Hispanic political community has co-opted it as a major issue, undoubtedly to try to secure a large voter base. The Asian community has wisely not done so. In any case, it doesn't matter the race or country of origin. Illegal is illegal. I don't care if you're Chinese, Irish, Polish, Russian, or Mexican. The treatment should be the same.

I agree, illegal is illegal.
One thing in the article that I found particularly galling was the abuse of the asylum system by Chinese applicants. Did anyone make it that far into the article?

Yes, illegal is illegal -- whatever ethnic background they are, if they broke the laws to be here, they should be deported. They definitely do not deserve to be rewarded in any way.
It's funny though because the Asian, African and other illegals really don't stand out so much at the big illegal protests and May Day marches. You don't see them obnoxiously waving their own country's flags around while demanding US citizenship be offered on a silver platter.

Asians have played a significant role in the immigration-related marches in Chicago. Many people who aren't very familiar with Mexico and Mexicans don't understand that in many instances, with many people ... there's a confusing resemblance between some Mexicans and Asians. It would take these folks a while to look at the faces to distinguish the two. But here in Chicago I've seen Asians front and center in the public demonstrations. We also have a lot of illegal from Poland, African nations, the Middle East. Some of the groups are keeping out of the limelight because the have greater fear of being captured and returned to their home countries.

I would imagine that the number of non-hispanics involved in demonstrations defending illegal immigrants however pales in comparison to the number of Hispanics involved in them.
