Yes it is, and before anyone says it, yes when it gets better in Mexico (which it appears to be heading) I think Mexicans will return to the homeland, but family and progress is most important.

A little change of subject-- I saw a couple of videos on YouTube about immigration protests. It seems as every time the anti-illegal group see a Mexican joining their side they're like "OMFG! A Mexican! Lets go stand next to him and interview him.. Maybe we can put him on the loud speaker". It's pretty funny. Until the other side starts calling him a traitor and a fight breaks out.

The "other side", the pro-illegals, are the real traitors. If they are American citizens, they should put the interests of the U.S. before the interests of Mexico or his own ethnic group. If they consider themselves more Mexican than American, than they should go back to Mexico. This goes for all people with divided loyalties regardless of what country they are originally from.

The real test to see where an immigrant's loyalties are is during the Olympics when the US plays their old country, who do they cheer for.

I'll tell you how I prove myself to be more American than anything though, I served in the US Navy during Operation Desert Storm for 2 tours. I was an Air Traffic Controller on board the USS JFK and stationed in Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean for a year. I am more American than you are probably because I put my life out there for this country. Have you fought in a War for the US?

I haven't exposed that little fact on this forum yet, so don't talk to me about being an American, part of being an American is freedom of speech.

Maybe things are that black and white to you, but it sounds like you have no idea of the power of roots in the Hispanic community.

All I want is fairness for all and to stop the spread of hate.

Some Mexicans (don't call me racist, they call themselves that) are very biased toward Mexicans period. I have friends who were born here and never were around Mexicans, and don't want anything to do with them at all. They were all born here, all their families are here, so theres no way they would support them in any manner.
Then, there are some like the woman I saw on tv, say that she harbors illegals. The drunk illegal who wrecked my daughters car was harbored by legals. So, they all feel differently.

I've noticed a lot that people do compare Illegals to terrorists.

Some of them might actually be. With such a porous border, how do we know that al Qaeda isn't inserting terrorists through Mexico? Increased scrutiny for visas doesn't mean a damn thing if we don't secure our borders.

That is what I want too.
Yes, I would love for all the illegals to go back to their country of origin. I wouldn't be opposed to helping them find their way out of ours! But what I can't stand is hating an entire nationality for the "crimes" of a "few".
"Legals" (and I use that term to include legal immigrants and citizens) of all nationalitys stand to lose if illegal migration continues. It truly is about supply and demand, and when employers have a large enough supply of cheap workers then the demand goes down and people start losing jobs. If we are ever going to resolve this problem we are going to have to keep race/nationality out of it.

I believe it all comes down to class. They don't want themselves to be viewed of lower class hence they don't attach themselves to Mexican culture-- as much. I see this at Raider games, the majority are Americans of Mexican decent who have been here for 2 or more generations and no longer like soccer as much.
