E-verify will gather whatever it wants on everyone from digital photo to fingerprints to medical records, etc.
Mandating e-verify means even American citizens will need to get permission from the Federal Government to work.

What if your information in this vast USG database gets screwed up ? One glitch and you may never be able to get a job.

Sure e-verify is being sold as a way to prevent illegals from working but on the otherhand its a huge database full of information on US citizens as well.

Default Alternatives?

Those of you who think E-Verify does not work or are against it for privacy reasons, what alternative do you have in mind? (Considering that experts say the only way we are really going to stop illegal immigration is make it nearly impossible for them to work in America)

since all E-verify forms are processed on-line, that means every company must purchase a computer and internet service.

So much for the govenment not forcing anyone to buy things.

Well in order to drive on public roads we must:
1. Be licensed
2. Have insurance
3. Depending on state have valid inspection
4. Vehicle must be registered and licensed.
At any rate for e-verify to work real penalties must be imposed.

Illegal immigration is a two prong problem...supply AND demand. E-verify is a simple solution to help get at the root causes of illegal immigration. To the benefit of everyone except illegal workers and those who exploit them.

The point is we are all required to meet certain demands in order to function in this country.
I wish I didn't need to have my vehicles inspected. Unlike some my vehicles are well maintained but because of some people that dont take care of their cars everyone in my state has to pay for annual inspections.
Your complaint was businesses would be forced to have computers. They are forced to do many things like hire accountants, pay their power bills etc. E-verify is not unreasonable given the level of abuses.
I just wish they would crack down on home owners who troll Home Depot parking lots for cheap illegal labor.

Oh the horror! A company having to buy a computer and internet service. As if most companies don't have those things already. I am not positive but I believe the government takes care of setting up e-verify for the employers.
