A fine for the dogs owner when the dogs were on their own private property?

The classic "I didn't know they were illegal, WTH?!". If employers will be forced to check if they're illegal, I think people getting side jobs done by people should check their documentation.

I have heard that in some states or localities if a stranger trespasses on your property you have the legal right to shoot and kill him. This should especially be the case for illegals.

Yes, that is true in many states especially rural areas.

The owner of the business that employed this man was the home owners BROTHER. Come one if the guy was illegal that really has nothing to do with the fact he was bitten bad enough to have to under go 3 hours of surgery. Don't you think that the victims status is being used as a ploy for the home owner to gain support. The facts are that the dogs owner never registered his dogs, they were not vaccinated as is the law in NJ and he's a back yard breeder. Nothing for nothing but who really is the bad guy here? Mr Obnoxious Mc Mansion owner whose brothers company hires illegals so the home owners lawn looks nice for a party or a landscaper who shows up an hour early to WORK.
I am totally against illegal immigration but there is much more to this story then most are aware of based on this thread.

I don't care who they were they were told to get back into their trucks and wait. They were 1 hour early and it is private property.
Again, if anyone hit my dogs with anything they would become aggressive towards that person.
If anyone grabbed anyone in my family our dogs would attack to protect us.
Why was the man going after the woman?
Why did they hit them with rakes?
Why did they not flee to their truck like told to do?
When the dogs first showed up, most people who are afraid of dogs would have gotten into their car and waited until they were put away.
Sounds like a set up to me I said it earlier now again.
If in fact they are working for the brother they knew the dogs would act the way they did. So they provoked them with a rake to get a reaction which was to be attacked, probably not as bad as what happened but still.
People do all kinds of things for insurance money.

Since everyone is so obsessed with documentation. Where is the documentation of when the workers were to arrive? Where is the background checks that the employer made. If we aren't going to cut any slack to the immigrants breaking laws lets hold the employers AND the people that get their services accountable.
The problem is that ALL parties in this were irresponsible except possibly the dog.
The illegals for coming into the country illegally.
The employer for hiring illegals.
The man who hired the landscaping service for not checking. Also he knew they were coming and should have taken five minutes, put on a robe and put the dogs someplace safe, he could have prepared as well.
Have you never shown up for work early or needed to show up early? I always show up early in order to prepare for my shift.
Yes the illegals are in here illegally, but they are trying to escape the cruel regimes (which we usually back) polluting factories (which produce goods we consume) work in sweatshops (which produce goods we consume) and overpriced land (due to us buying time shares and vacation houses.
If you really want the illegal problem fixed we can be COMPLETELY isolationist policy (no visiting or buying goods from other countries and build a wall and post guards every tenth of a mile around the entire perimeter of the nation), or we can start being charitable to their working poor, but since we can't do that in America, I really doubt we can do that for others.

This link confirms the 60+ rabies shots this man had to endure on top of 3 hours of surgery.
The Princeton Packet
This article states the landscaper company is owned by the home owners brother
The Princeton Packet
No one but Congo's owners are to blame for this incident. They have proven themselves irresponsible dog owners by not vaccinating or licencing their dogs. Add that to them being back yard breeders and the wholesome family loving dog owners story requires a deeper look.
