Well, Senator Lara no bias in your viewpoints, right? I heard this morning that our governor was going to approve DL for illegal aliens. Another liberal state bites the dust! Lawbreakers shouldn't be penalized? Hardworking families? You mean those who are stealing jobs from Americans, committing felony ID theft and tax evasion? Why should illegal aliens be exempt from tickets, court fees and car impoundments? Are they special? Americans don't escape justice for the crimes they commit. I am embarrassed to be a long-time resident of California. Not only is it expensive to live here, but we are overrun with illegal aliens, and the state is fast becoming a third world country. The government is broke, yet it spends millions on social services for those who came here illegally, our prisons are over filled, senior programs have been cut to the bone.. And now they get driver licenses?? Sure, they will also purchase insurance, and we will all be safer on the roads, the pundits say. I am not buying it.

Wrong. It's not liberals. This liberal is trying to get her LEGAL immigrant husband a drivers license. We were told that he will have to pay $700 to go to driving school first, then take a road test and a written test! Meanwhile, the state wants to give licenses to ILLEGALS.
We PAID for and WAITED for the green card, fulfilled all the requirements, sent in all the forms and the huge amounts of filing fees. Finger printed, vaccinated, background checked--all at our expense and now this.
My husband has been driving for years and does not need driving school, not even a road test. Tell me that they'll make the illegals go though all this stuff. I bet they'll just get handed a free drivers license.
