Interesting that you mention environmental destruction. Guess the Dems haven't figured that part out.
California is running out of water, some towns are dry. California is also home to a large illegal population.
A long time ago I remember a discussion where someones opinion was the next major war will be over water, clean potable water. Without it everything will die. At the risk of being called paranoid or racist I will wonder out loud if the USA hasn't welcomed an invasion and ultimately our Country being taken over for our natural resources.

Yes, you sound paranoid. Maybe there's a stronger term to describe how this reads.
DHS says the children are coming here because of gangs and war.
Border Patrol provided Congress and DHS a memo with their interviews as they catch them along with numbers of children apprehended.
They are coming here and seeking "permisos"..permission to stay.
Word of mouth and their own local media is telling them that the US is allowing them in and providing "permisos" to them with no detention.
DHS told Congress that if they pass amnesty then this "confusion" in South America will be cleared up.
DHS said they didn't see the Border Patrol memo.
I guess DHS thinks that will stop the flow.
I'm going with the Border Patrol memo here. They are the "boots on the ground".
They also reported that 10,000 children were caught at the Texas border just in May alone.

My question is where are the parents of these kids? Are they back in their homelands or are they already here and had deserted these kids back in the homeland? If their parents are back in their homelands then what kind of supervision were they getting that these minor kids could make a trek all the way up to the USA on their own? Many unanswered questions.

Actually many of their parents are here, working and sending money back home.
They paid for the smugglers to bring their kids here.
And the kids are being reunited with their parents after processing.
Adult women are allowed to contact relatives and friends living here to get sent money for bus tickets.

True. Much of the southwest now must divert water from agriculture to the rapidly growing cities.
It reminds you of that book The Population Bomb that the liberals used to promote but have forgotten, where the indigent of the third world fail to control their reproduction rates and begin pouring into first world countries in search of food and other necessities. We now see thousands of these children flooding over the border, hungry and ill.

Longford---Even The Washington Post had an article admitting to the fact that we, as a nation, are running out of potable water. You're more than welcome to search WaPo's website to find the article.
There is nothing "paranoid" about being concerned about such issues. We don't have unlimited buildable land. Nor do we have unlimited potable water.
From NBC News - Parched California Pours Mega-Millions Into Desalination Tech
Besieged by drought and desperate for new sources of water, California towns are ramping up plans to convert salty ocean water into drinking water to quench their long-term thirst. The plants that carry out the high-tech "desalination" process can cost hundreds of millions of dollars, but there may be few other choices for the parched state.

FYI...From the Los Angeles Almanac website..
Illegal Immigrants in California and Los Angeles County
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), an estimated 2,830,000 illegal immigrants
resided in California in 2011, compared to 1.5 million in 1990 and 2.5 million in 2000. This number represents
about 24 percent of the entire estimated illegal immigrant population in the United States (11.5 million in 2011).
This estimate puts the percentage of California's population that are illegal immigrants to be about 7.5 percent, with a majority (about 60 percent) being from Mexico. Across the entire United States, an estimated 6.8 million illegal immigrants were from Mexico, up from 4.7 million in 2000
