Great idea...we need to ramp up protection of the border. It's time to enforce, with any and all means possible.

Yeah...just because anyone CAN become POTUS doesn't mean "just anybody" should!
This person has absolutely no background or experience to be in the role of running our country - and never should have been a candidate in the first place.

Why the h*ll don't we have more standards to becoming the leader of this country??? Knowledge of World history, economics, hey, even our Constitution???

They should have a background check (like, thug/drug activities....hell"O"???!!!) and pass a competency test. "O" would have failed miserably. Just look at him now...he's a shrinking violet, overwhelmed by the country's problems and world events. As the media is saying, (regarding the aid drops to Iraqi citizens)...it may be "too late, and too little". "O" and his admin. are completely out of their league.

Another example is the Murder of Agent Vega...Just now, Shawn Moran, VP of the National Border Control Council, said that the Feds and Administration is "blocking" the legal work of the Border Patrol Agents every step of the way.

by Shawn Moran a few minutes ago:
"We catch the illegals, turn them over to ICE, and they release them!!! This includes criminals and those who want to do us harm."

What the h*LL????????!!!!!!!!

We citizens are allowing this? The distortion of our border laws, non-support of the Border Patrol, and the infiltration of illegals, including criminals and cartels?

This is absolutely disgusting....God Bless Agent Vega who was trying to protect his family, as well as his country. I feel so badly for his poor family...

"O", WHERE is the support for this man's family??? Or, are you going to continue to funnel monies to support people ...CRIMINALS who shouldn't be here in the first place???

The administration, media, Congress and the president himself all refer to a "broken immigration system". There's nothing broken about it. Truth is, we have a system in place but it is being totally ignored.

It's government that is broken.

It's an excellent question! That may make a good thread to brainstorm and hash it out. But it would be trashed here. Best place for it is Great Debates.

Our government is broken on many fronts, not just on the border.

Any solution is going to take commitment. This seems to be in short supply these days. The first solution in my opinion should be to pass legislation making it not only illegal to hire an "undocumented alien" but make it punishable with massive fines and the possibility of prison terms.
The second point would be an electronic fence and increased surveillance of the border.
Thirdly any "undocumented alien" found in this country should receive a prison term for the first offense not to exceed one year in prison. Second offense,, a mandatory 5 year term. Third offense, 20 years.
All of this needs to be distributed throughout South America, that the US is done playing paddy cakes with them. Do all this and the problem will diminish by I would guess 85%.

It's government that is broken.

This is the last paragrapgh of Article II, section 2 of the Constitution.

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:—"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

He ain't following through so well is he?

So I guess there is no chance at all for a thread in illegal immigration to actually remain on topic after a few posts? Must it all turn into the same old rants that have been posted here so many times before ? Come on. This is not a chat room, forum threads have specific topics and members are supposed to follow them.
I swear one day I'm going to start handling out "hijacking the thread" infractions in numbers and this forum will be dead as everybody will be restricted or banned.
Yac.

That would sure cerate jobs.

We would need the fence.......and man power.

Plus....a new prison.......come to think about it......thousands of new prisons.

I would have about 20 relatives (X-husband's family) in prison.
