It's been proven that people don't vote their best interests.

Those politicians know that.

All they have to do is make a promise they don't intend to keep and the votes come rolling in.

Don't write your Senators and Representatives,

.....run them out. They haven't done anything for you,

I think people vote their best interests, but you are right, they do make promises just to get in power. However, the only way to run them out is to vote, and petition; let our voices be heard.
