For immigrants here illegally, life can be very different from one state to another. Some states have been reluctant to accept them, while others have moved to incorporate them. Unauthorized immigrants are barred from receiving most federal benefits. MARCH 29, 2015

It needs to be tough in EVERY state for illegal aliens.

Breaking the law incures risks and alienation. Is this a surprise? Those who accept law breakers into their communities are just as guilty as they are.

Illinois makes it easy. They can receive welfare and most do. Rarely do you hear of them being arrested and when you do the media twists to make them look like victims.

I worry about my state (VA) as it has been slowly turning "purple". In Northern Virginia, we've been flooded with low information voters who want to give illegals everything that they want.

KS would never support legalizing them since that would make businesses unhappy with the politicians but they do everything they can to facilitate their being here. Don't dare ask about E-Verify because politicians become deaf.

I think any state that wants to ignore the problem and not work to ship them out should be fighting for a path for them to become legal. They milk the system. Medical care is provided if they show up and need it which costs us all. They are also a drain on charities which should be used for our own citizens, I quit contributing. They wanted donations for milk, they want donations for all kinds of stuff here that I haven't seen elsewhere. There should only be two sides - get them out or get them legal.

This greatly contributes to those states that are heavy in illegals: http://www.undocumentedpatients.org/...prenatal-care/ You know, I can remember a lot of couples/families that I have known in the past that had to save up to pay for the delivery of a baby and one of the reasons some enter the military is in order to have medical care paid for when they are growing their family.

Illegal aliens can't join our military.

I think he was referring to Americans. I know a lot of Americans who join the military for the medical.

So... California is in an official drought which means mandatory 25% reduction of water use by everyone. And the stats admit there are 1.2 "undocumented" people in the state, the highest illegal count in the country. Texas is second. I know everyone else is suffering in their own states, so apologize for bringing up California often. After 40 years of working here, educated and paying taxes, there is no help for someone in my position who needs a hand, yet illegals continue to collect benefits gratis. Seems a little screwed up IMHO. Our taxes at work. The California state government, lead by Jerry Brown, continues to amaze me. There's no telling what will be up next week!

I complained to my former governor about that and someone in his office called me racist. Why should childless poor be denied welfare who truly need it when illegals and their kids get it? This is happening. Sure now medicaid is open to all poor but until recently it was just kids and their parents regardless of immigration status.
