Local news anchor thinks twice about immigration bill. Once all for illegals not being here and supporting the bill 100% thinks twice after meeting a local family fearing for the families future. Watch his 2 cents about how he feels about it now.

Nothing shows up when I click on the link. On a side note, I don't think a local news anchor's opinion carries a whole lot of weight with how the average Joe in Oklahoma feels about illegal immigration. Still, I would be interested to see the video if the link would work.

Too late; the tidal wave of anti illegal immigrant sentiment is too strong-------remember those protesters flying the Mexican flag almost two years ago? That idiotic move is coming back to haunt 'em.

The law will be repealed either by the courts or by the politicians within the next few years. People in Oklahoma will see the horrible damage it does to people and to the state ecomony and they will demand it be repealed if the courts don't do so first.

Do you truly believe that?
The horrible damage has been done------hence us Americans starting to 'clean house'.

Horrible damage? If there is that much damage to the OK economy by booting out illegals then the illegal alien invasion is even bigger than thought and must be dealt with immediately!! I'm sick and tired of hearing how important this group of criminals is to our economy. That's like saying we should not incarcerate burglars because they spend their ill-gotten gains in the community.

What about the "horrible damage" done to Americans?
From The United States Department of Labor
The unemployment rate rose to 5.0 percent in December, while nonfarm payroll employment was essentially unchanged (+18,000), the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. Job growth in several service-providing industries, including professional and technical services, health care, and food services, was largely offset by job losses in construction and manufacturing. (Hmmm....aren't these two of the areas being inundated with cheap illegal alien labor? Makes one wonder, doesn't it?)
Average hourly earnings rose by 7 cents, or 0.4 percent.
Unemployment (Household Survey Data)
The number of unemployed persons increased by 474,000 to 7.7 million in
December and the unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage point to 5.0 percent. A year earlier, the number of unemployed persons was 6.8 million, and the jobless rate was 4.4 percent. (See table A-1.)
There are plenty of out of work Americans of every creed and color to fill whatever "devastating" gaps in the workforce you seem to believe will be created by the absence of illegal aliens.
Here's a life lesson for ya Kev....
For every action in life, there are consequences. If you choose to ignore the sovereign law of this land in order to be here, then you must accept that if you are caught, you will not be allowed to stay...plaiin and simple.

Your absolutely right, there have been numerous articles on how the law has hurt Oklahoman businesses. Many employers had employees suddenly vanish days before the law went into effect. Legal immigrants had begun to left the state because of the hostility in the air. America will realize these workers are heavily needed for this country to continue with a powerful economy. Arizona has about 4 times as many illegal immigrants as Oklahoma. I'm not sure where employers are going to be looking for new workers? Americans would rather attend college, live at home, or sit at a desk job. Illegal immigrants are so gracious for any money or job they pick up here, because it's a heck of alot better than Mexico or Central.
