Old people like him, name recognition. The exit polls clearly stated they voted based on his nice guy status rather than real issues. Priorities!!!!

it's not going to matter who becomes chief.. what will make a big difference is all the states getting illegals out before chiefy takes over..

The bill in SC has a very good chance of passing.
SC also has a very large population of veterans who would support McCain on that basis.

Once South Carolina's anti illegal immigrant bill passes; methinks it will be just a matter of time before the rest of the 'South' (with the possible exceptions of Virginia [due to NoVa's huge influence], Florida, and Texas) falls in line with similar legislation.

....crackdown?

From your link:

Quote:
Rep. Joe Neal said it actually makes it easier for businesses to employ illegal workers because the penalties are so lenient.

"We didn't even require them to lose the contract or fire the illegal immigrants," said Neal, D-Hopkins.

"We're giving a wink and a nod and calling the public blind mules because they're not supposed to understand the game that's being played."
