For New York City immigrants who made their way through the rain to the polls yesterday, the chance to bask in the glow of victory as the votes were tallied didn't depend completely on whether their candidates won.

With the Democratic candidates falling over themselves to woo immigrant voters in the past week, and with the spectacular rise of the most pro-immigrant among the Republican candidates, Senator McCain, suggesting that the illegal immigrant issue is less important to voters than his opponents previously assumed, immigrants came out as some of the biggest winners in the Super Tuesday primary contests.

Huge difference between legal immigrants and the illegal variety.

Many of the former group detest the latter group of lawbreakers at least as badly as natural born US citizens.

sad and probably true, although john mccain is backpedaling like crazy now and we still don't know if there will be a 3rd party candidate.

I have heard that as well.......

Note too that both of the leading Democrat candidates may also pull a 'McCain' flip-flop concerning the illegal immigration problem.

of course obama has the DREAM act, which is definitely pro illegal immigration. The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act (also called "The DREAM Act") is a piece of proposed federal legislation in the United States that would provide high school students who are illegal immigrants who wish to attend college or serve in the armed forces with financial loans and eligibility for legal status

Oh?

That's an interesting concept, ...unlikely, but interesting none the less...

Another prognostication that'll be hard to substantiate, especially since you don't identify some position that they may need to repudiate,

.....from where does this arcane supposition spring?

Do you mean to infer that they will look to pander to the anti-immigration wing of the right?

Who is this pro illegal side you keep talking about?

...and if they're supposedly 'losing',

...why are you so concerned with posting heuristic repetitions every day?

That behavior doesn't support your assertion,

....you keep saying you're assured of 'winning' something or other, you keep saying your 'side' is winning something over some unidentified 'enemy' of yours,

....but you don't sound very assured of your 'victory' when you post all your continual worry each day.

Who are these people you think you're winning against?

Seems to me that the people who want illegal workers are the corporations and their enablers, ....if you think you're winning any fight with them, you might want to take another look around.
