Maryland mistake could lead to canceled commercial driver’s licenses for some immigrants (illegal aliens, drivers)

The Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles issued more than 250 notices this month to holders of commercial driver’s licenses across the state warning them that their licenses would be canceled unless they proved their citizenship or permanent residency within 30 days.

The bulk of those letters went to Maryland immigrants who have work permits through a federal Temporary Protected Status program that shields immigrants from certain countries from deportation but does not concede any legal status in the country.

Nothing bad about yanking DL's from illegal aliens. Period.

I noticed a continuous dance with "terms" and never "illegal alien". This is the mess they get when they give out DLs to illegal aliens. I still don't understand people not having "documents" since as an American citizen, they are always wanting a copy of something from us.

Yep. You can't even get a U.S. passport issued for the first time without extensive certified documentation. I know. Had to apply for one for each of my kids (though, renewal is easier).

ANYONE, i was driving and hit someone, they weren't hurt and we both were able to drive away, i went home to file a claim and found out my insurance was cancelled 2 days prior, and i had my vehicle registration and tags in one state but my license in another , what will happen
