I was listening to NPR this morning as part of my weekend dose of Lefty spin and they interviewed a father that had been separated at the border from his 14 year old daughter.

They were from Ecuador if I remember correctly.

They came seeking asylum because a gang in their home town had threatened to rape his daughter. They were stopped at the border, told that the daughter was being taken away to get cleaned up and given new clothes and he never saw her again. He was deported and is now in Mexico City. The daughter is in a detention center in Florida. They do get to talk on the phone.

His hope is that his daughter can be given to his brother so he can raise her BUT the only issue is that he is living in the US illegally and is afraid to come forward to claim his niece.

They do not know what they are going to do. He is worried and she is frightened.

Does anyone see a problem with this story? NPR is playing to their base with this. I don't know how they got into contact with a random guy that was trying to sneak into America..

The problem, at least to a law abiding conservative is that the father and daughter were trying to break the law that their relative has already done. Of course the Left sees little issue with this arrangement and will no doubt blame Trump that the father hasn't seen his daughter and doesn't know if he ever will.

I wonder if at the age of 14 she could raise her hand and volunteer to go back to Mexico city to be with her Dad?

I really wish that NPR would show both sides of the issue and invite an American Mom and Dad that lost their daughter at the hands of an illegal alien to talk on the air but we know that is not going to happen on National PUBLIC Radio.

I heard the same story this morning and my reaction was similar to yours.

Under the current policy, as stated by Sessions, gangs and domestic violence do not count toward asylum parameters.

A day doesn’t go by there isn’t a new sob story. Too bad those stories aren’t countered by reports of abuses caused by illegal aliens to American citizens. That way, those on the far left can hear the other side immediately after the illegals’ plights.

It really is crazy how NPR can focus so intently on the plight of an illegal alien and ignore the exact same scenario that is playing out in the lives of so many Americans.

I listen to NPR during my commute and I think they have about a new story each day about some awesome illegal family that is being hurt by policy etc. etc.

I wonder if they've had stories on how corporations exploit the workers and how it suppresses the wages of the poorest working Americans that compete for those same laborer jobs.

I support LEGAL immigration.

I do NOT support a system that has been set up to basically exploit desperate people like we're back in the 1910 meat packing industry. Corporations have done a masterful job of doing this while casting their detractors as the bad guys.

This one from this weekend:

ICE Arrests Husband Who Was Escorting Wife to Give Birth

Dad was wanted for murder in Mexico...love the spin in the first part of this story (the murder charge was not initially revealed when this story broke)

I used to listen to NPR during the week years ago but their praise of everything Obama was a bit much and what really had me changing the channel was the story after story of the poor, desperate and gay guys living in the Middle East that were trying to come out but faced a death sentence if they did. Other stories had natives of Iraq, Afghanistan and anywhere else that America had boots on the ground and how they were mistreated by the soldiers in one way or another.

I guess NPR has moved on from the Middle East and are focusing on our border.

If NPR did have stories on corporations exploiting workers I'm sure there would be an anti Trump spin put on it. They should run a story about the dangers of open borders and what amnesty for 20 million people that are now living in the US illegally would do to the millions of people that are just getting by working low skilled jobs that are traditionally held by legal immigrants and minorities. They would be crushed by the competition.

I also support Legal immigration and so does Trump, we are both married to immigrants.

I saw the headlines for that and I didn't know the guy was wanted for murder. Of course that little detail would be left out because as it stands the story cast a negative shadow on the embattled ICE.

But you know something the Left is so deranged I don't think they care that there was a wanted murderer living illegally in our country.

They don't care because the crime was against someone else. I don't wish misfortune on anyone but I wonder what it would take, how close does a crime have to hit to home to make these people wake up that open borders and sanctuary cities is not a good idea?

I often listen to NPR while driving and I am always frustrated that I am unable to call in to voice my objections.

My first thought was... why didn't the dad and his daughter apply for asylum in Mexico instead???

Otherwise, you left out that the daughter is hoping to stay with an uncle, but the problem is... that he is an undocumented Ecuadorian living in the US. So he needs to be booted out of the US also.

And the news media keeps playing up how the woman was rushing to the hospital for a PLANNED C-section. Therefore, the woman was NOT in labour!!!!

Also, it greatly irked me that she is carrying their FIFTH child!!!! Americans cannot afford to house these immigrants with their large families. Why should I be forced to pay taxes towards educating their five children when I chose a childfree life??? Make her stop getting pregnant!!!!

If her husband is indeed a murderer, he needs to go back to Mexico ASAP. And his wife and five children need to leave with him. I have no doubt that they ALL know how to speak Spanish fluently.
