But WHY would politicians want to purposely lower our standard of living and quality of life, especially since it's we the taxpayers who are footing the bills?
Too bad the Democratic Party didn't run on anti-illegal immigrants since that is one of the reasons Trump got into office. Gavin Newsom - probably California's next governor - will continue the sanctuary state edict. Newsom wants every child to attend pre-school, no matter the immigration status, as well as free medical insurance for all. We already have drivers licenses for illegals.
And our homelessness continues to thrive without nary a concern. After all, most homeless are US citizens.
It's time to bail from this state after living here all my life.
Well some people at the top profit off of immigrant workers and consumers, and those politicians are working for the people at the top and willing to pass on tax payer-costs to the rest of the citizens. Then democrats see immigrants as future if not current voters. Personally, I just think democrats are malevolent toward American citizens when it get down to it.

Thank you for the explanation, which makes perfect sense.
And they keep talking about illegals and our immigration laws, yet no progress has been made while thousands are invading our borders. Come on, Republicans, get cracking before California is more overrun than it already is!! Trump needs to stick to his guns (no pun meant).
When Newsom takes office, we will be in more turmoil than ever.

Since the Democrats keep opposing e-verify and the wall and advocate for sanctuary cities there is very little Trump and the Republicans can do.

Not sure if you are referring to immigrants, illegal aliens or both.

Phew! I forgot about the Sanctuary Cities. I do not know one person - on both sides - who is in favor of sanctuary cities. It's ridiculous. Unfortunately, California residents had no say - city councils and mayors and - oh yeah, in the case of a sanctuary state (Jerry Brown) - made the decisions to protect illegal aliens. They already are entitled to driver licenses.
California's motto is (per Governor Brown in 2015): "Mine casa is your casa."
No wonder they are so smugly entitled: Swing open those borders! they chant, while waving their country's flag.

I was referring to foreign sources of workers illegals, those on employment visas and immigrant visas. Illegals are the worsetbut I think politicians allow too many employment visas and legal immigration too.
