https://www.npr.org/sections/health-...ents-then-what

A touchy-feely piece on the challenges faced by (presumably illegal) immigrant families, and the challenges they face reuniting as a family when their children present themselves at the border, to be rejoined with their parents in the US.

Nowhere is anyone's immigration status mentioned. Only the tremendous social service and educational needs of these children, to be provided by our public school system, and their great difficulty in adjusting to life in a strange country, with a strange language, with parents they barely can remember.

Nowhere is broached the possibility that when the children's caretaker grandparents pass away, the parents could return to their home country to take care of the children they left behind. Of course, if the parents were legal immigrants, they could have applied to bring their minor children here legally years ago. So it is understandable that the children did not come beforehand. But the NPR piece does not mention any of this extremely relevant information.

Why are we not deporting the illegal immigrant parents whose children come as illegal immigrants to join them?

Why are we not just giving them citizenship? That would fix all these issues and be a whole lot easier...

That'll be fine. You just have to rewrite how to become a citizen. What would they be @JoulesMSU?

I am hoping that comment was tongue in cheek...but since it is estimated that 300 million people want to migrate to the US...are you implying we should give 300 million people citizenship upon arrival?

My only complaint about Illegal Aliens crossing our border is that they refuse to follow our laws.

If they want to come here, fine. . . just follow the laws and do it legally.

No tongue in cheek there if that poster is a liberal. They are dead serious and they know if that happens a Republican will never again see the inside of the Oval Office.

Why not give me/my wife and every other sponcer/immigrant a full refund of all the money spent bringing our spouses in the legal way. I would also want compensation for the time spent apart while waiting through the long process of approval.

These invaders don't deserve citizenship or legal residence. All they should get is a ride to the border and packed in a bus taking them back to the country they are from. If they claim Mexican, put them on a bus to the Mexico/Guatemalan border so they are as far from our border as possible in Mexico!

Why reward these invaders for breaking the law?

I agree and in some cases the laws that bind us do not apply to them. Say you get in a car crash with an illegal alien, they don't have a license or car insurance, the Police come and since you live in a Sanctuary city/state they all know that if they take the person in that nothing is going to happen to him. If the illegal does actually get into trouble and is hauled before a judge and ordered to show up several weeks from now for the case to be heard what are the chances he will?

After all of that your insurance company has to pick up the tab from the crash and we all pay a higher fee next year to cover these uninsured drivers.

My wife immigrated to America years before I met her and she did it the proper way.

We have laws for a reason and when certain people are not expected to follow them and worse is when a certain segment of our society encourages them to break our laws then why should we have laws at all?

The Dems will go blue in the face telling us that they do not want open borders but if they choose to ignore and not enforce immigration laws then what is that called?

NPR is ridiculous in how they carry the propaganda message of the Left.

I don't understand how parents can leave their children behind to come to another country. I don't understand it at all. You'd think these parents would be charged with child abandonment. What happens when those caring for their children are in a car accident? A fire? An earthquake? They could lose the very family they've slaved to provide for. It may sound extreme but it could happen. Those kids are raised by someone else and who says the money sent to care for them is spent for them. Those children may not be faring any better. Let alone the psychological issues of having their parents leave them. These are also the types of people coming into our country.

I am a Latino male, Puerto Rican descent. I'm brown/White, my roots trace back to White Europeans of Spain and Taino Indians (if anyone is curious and if that even matters), non-the-less I am of Hispanic/Latino origin. And being so I DO NOT wish for this Central Americans in this caravan INVADING this country. Of course, of course, NOT ALL but the overwhelming majority of these people will invade America, rape it of its resources, benefits, opportunities, welfare. And in turn they will also come into the country with a sense of entitlement, since they are the poor, lowly immigrants who just want opportunities. They will just find enclaves in cities across America and slowly turn it into the cesspools from whence they came. They have ZERO interest in immigrating peacefully into America and giving back, being a contributing, APPRECIATVE citizen. When or if America goes burns to the ground, these people wouldn't care. They'll either jump ship to whatever other country they can benefit from or they'll feel right at home. They just want to make American another Central America, they can really care less about the future of this country. They simply want to INVADE AND TAKE OVER.

Again, let me emphasize, not all. I know personally immigrants from Central America and Mexico who are good people and have made their way, paid their dues and contribute, who do care about the state of this country. They'll keep their culture and beliefs but understand they are in America. On the other hand, I've met way too many immigrants from Central America who I CANNOT stand. They have a sense of such entitlement, and don't care to assimilate. You speak to them in English and they cop an attitude, as if you're in their home countries speaking Russian and expecting them to understand. They'll curse America yet long for their home countries and brag about how they have a house and this and that back home. Meanwhile THEY WORK AND LIVE HERE.

I am making no qualms, I am tired of these people, I am at the point of detesting many of them. We DO NOT need them, they are invading, they don't care about America and don't care about the citizens. They'll breed like rats and mice and teach nothing of value to their children but to be DUMB, LAME and irresponsible like themselves. They don't care and will not care. KEEP. THESE. PEOPLE. OUT. BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY.
