We have all been busy emailing, faxing and calling our reps and senators to come out against this shamnesty plan and yet we all have to notice that only the other side gets all the publicity. Most of us are feeling like we have no voice or say in our government after the cloture vote today. I beleive we need to generate publicity for ourselves and was trying to come up with a way for it to happen. Does anyone think it would get us some air time if we set a day to have everyone on here email just one nationwide commentator.............I mean really load him up with emails outlining the reasons we are against this plan? Now which commentator do you think would be most apt to air that they had received hundreds, if not thousands of emails in one 24 hour period. If we can manage to figure out which would be the best to bombard with emails and then set a 24 hour period where we can get everyone we know to email we might just be able to get our message out there. Your opinion..............crazy idea or something worth trying?

Could be a good idea. Let's target the media. Not just one of them, but all that we can. Maybe we targeted the wrong people, because after all, they are only Senators and we all know the media runs the country. I wonder if the same sites that set it up to blitz the Senators would do it for media? Post phone numbers, set up one clicks for email, etc.?

It's not a bad idea. But, unfortunately, I don't think we, the opposition, will get press coverage unless millions of us take to the streets in protest. Then we would all be called 'racists' and worse.
Or unless some nut-case starts shooting hispanics. I pray something like that doesn't happen. Not only because it's just wrong, but also because some in the media and gov't would use it to paint everyone who is against the bill as 'nut-cases'.

I agree with your first paragraph. 97% of media gave contributions to liberal causes last year. This is why media and their liberal owners are not going to help conservative causes, UNLESS as you said WE TAKE TO THE STREETS NOT BY SMALL CROWDS but BY THOUSANDS AND MILLIONS, and often...this is what it will take to force media coverage.

Take it to the streets. But conservatives, which most of the people who are against this piece of garbage bill are, do not do that. They prefer to remain in the background and let the grassroots make all the noise to their senators or reps in congress. That's what I have been doing. I know my congressman will vote against this bill. The two Michigan senators are liberal and will not vote against it. Conservatives know the media, national and local, are liberal bias by far, so the conclusion they draw is why bother with a massive protest. As a previous post stated, they would be portrayed in the media as racists and bigots and intolerant. No question. Those who are against this garbage should e-mail, call, fax or face their congressman or senator face to face if they're brave enough to show up in person in their district tell them to not vote for this. I believe there are enough common sense elected officals in D.C. who will heed the opinions of their constitutents and vote against it and hopefully kill this measure once and for all.

I guess it works out for you to be the victim by saying that you are not seeing the coverage you want, but there's plenty there.

You even get most of Lou Dobb's show everynight.....

Who is Lou Dobbs??? I want to see the poll results on the nightly news. I want to hear it on my local radio station. For everytime I have to hear about the immigration reform I want to hear how many AMERICANS are against it. With the slant the media puts on this immigration bill one would think we are all sitting here with our fingers crossed that it will pass. I want unbiased media. Present the FACTS, let me decide for myself what the facts mean.

chele123 don't hold your breath. The media is biased to the left which by in large supports this awful bill. Why to do think talk radio is getting all this attention now with the so-called fairness doctrine? Because people like Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannidy are telling it like it is. They're saying this bill would be a disaster for the country. The left and many so-called republicans don't like when talk radio says these things because they know they have millions of people listening what's in this bill and not listening to their senators or Bush who just want to ram this through with little or no debate.

One mainstream news media show on CNN when the rest of CNN consists of open border fanatics. Lou Dobbs is terrific, but he is one news person in hundreds with big enough bisquits to tell it like it really is. Big freakin' whoop.

The MSM is consistently biased against the pro-LEGAL immigration coalitions, even FOX which is supposedly conservative, takes an open borders stance. We are called anti-immigrant, which is patently untrue. We are labeled racist, xenophobic, nationalistic, and closed minded, simply because we want our borders secured and the laws of our sovereign country enforced.

Many of us are LEGAL immigrants or come from a LEGAL immigrant background. Many of us have ancestors who were brought here against their will. The one thing that brings us all together, the ties that bind us, no matter what our differences may be, is the love of this country and the desire to preserve America for American citizens and our progeny and for those who love her and respect her enough to emigrate LEGALLY.

By the way, those of us who are PRO-LEGAL IMMIGRATION leave the victim mentality to the illegal alien incursion and their Socialist sympathizers. They whine enough for both of us.
