Good news!

Quote:
Acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan said in January he expects to meet President Donald Trump’s goal of erecting 450 miles of new border wall construction by the end of 2020, and the White House maintained that optimism Sunday.
“The president has kept his promise to secure the border. With funding available, the administration will build up to approximately 1,000 miles of border wall along the southwest border.”

Good but if a Dem should win in November the wall will be stopped and worse what is already in place and working will be left to deteriorate or even taken down. The Dems have also talked about dissolving ICE and defunding the border guards.

A wall that is not monitored is a wall that can be burrowed under, gone through or scaled over but this is what the Dems want.

More wall is a good thing but the Dems are poised to blow it all up and the country with it.

According to the Heritage Foundation "a (boarder) wall in a remote desert would barely slow down illegal immigrants... Instead, our tax money would be better spent on technology or additional agents would could respond to and detect illegal crossings." Heritage also says "enforcement of U.S. immigration law within the country" is more important than a wall to stop illegal immigration.

And in 2008 the "Border Patrol chief and GOP members of Congress" declared that "850 miles of double layer fencing along five segments of the border" was all that was needed to secure the border.

The idea behind Trumps border wall is not based on stopping illegal immigration, rather the idea was created by Trump's campaign advisers as a "memory trick."

The border wall idea "was cooked up as a mnemonic device of sorts, to make sure their candidate—who hated reading from a script but loved boasting about himself and his talents as a builder—would remember to talk about immigration.”

But the "memory trick" drew such loud appause at Trump rallys, that it became part of Trumps platform.

And there are costs to making the wall government policy.

Most meth, heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl entering America comes through legal ports of entry, and Trump is taking ports of entry security funding to build his wall.

Trump "Rejected Homeland Security’s request for a surveillance system in the Rio Grande Valley."

Trump "Rejected a $7.9 million request from Customs and Border Protection to upgrade its P-3 surveillance aircraft, which tracks drugs being shipped from Peru, Colombia, and other countries (which was responsible for the seizure of 193,197 pounds of cocaine in 2016.)"

Trump is "seeking to delay a $15 million request to buy 15 new Coastal Interceptor boats in order to keep pace with the faster boats being used by smugglers."

And Trump Cut "almost 200 of the 500 canine units that officials say play an integral role in preventing smuggling and terrorism." ex.ex.

And "President Donald Trump wants to shift nearly four billion dollar in the defense budget away from military procurement to fund his border wall construction project. Trump’s defense budget cuts F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, P-8A patrol aircraft, MQ-9A Reaper attack drones, C-130 transports, and other programs, as well as delaying construction on a key amphibious ship."

Keep building. The wall system is already have an effect on illegal immigration.
Remember, even liberals were in favor of a wall until Trump was elected. They had a good week last week, so about 120 miles has been erected with many more under construction.
The "Yeah, but", "ladder" "tunnel", and "walk around it" people have lost.
