Do you think all proposed immigration legislation should be brought to the voters?
Personally, I would like to see a bill come to the voters on immigration. Since the higher levels of government cant do anything except ignore the populace, I would love it if we could vote on the matter(s) whether it pertain to the border, to enforcement, to how we deal with those here....I think we should be able to vote on it b/c the government is not letting our voice be heard on the matter. I dont think there is any doubt on the outcomes of various propositions. Most people oppose illegal immigrant rights.

I like the idea. Aint the purpose of democracy to have the consent of the governed?
No I think that is the job of the elected officals. If they can say no to amnsty twice becasue of public in put, The fact is they need no new law as the present laws gave amnesty in the 80's but they never closed the border as in the law. Then they can work on the employer responsibilites in the bill and then make the fines much larger if needed.
We already have the laws they just need to be enforced. And get on with the fence.
