Yeah, I agree. Allowing churchs to act as sanctuaries ala the middle ages is granting religion a preferred status which it should not have in this country. Why not hide in a bakery? Why is my private home not my own domain? The answer would be to break the law you negate your rights to privacy in executation of a warrant. This should hold true for all.

Is it not true that churches see everyone as equal? That is what they preach when speaking of God's teachings.

But they negate that God commands his children to obey the laws of the land and respect authority.

The church can see everyone as candycanes if they want to......the state is not the church. The church should have no bearing on state or federal laws.

I could not agree more, Alanboy

Once a church enters The Political Arena . . . stop the BS and SICK THE IRS ON THEM since The Constitution clearly defines the separation of Church and State.

The churches should be able to help anyone they wish, they have always done it and will continue to, if they did not...they would not be doing what they preach. whether or not you believe in God, he would call the "illegals" your brothers/sisters.

WRONG, sassyone . . . AIDING and ABETTING COMMON CRIMINALS has always been against the law in this country.

What's next . . . aiding Drug Dealers or Bank Robbers and maybe even Child Molesters because everyone is equal?

Yeah, the catholic church helped priest pedophiles for many many years.....were they just practicing what they preach? I mean, they have always done it, shouldn't they continue to do so? I am sure God would agree

The unpalatable fact is that every nation has the right to its own immigration laws. That every nation has the right to enforce those immigration laws. No matter how much of a sad sack said illegal immigrant is, or how pathetic his back story is. It makes no difference.

Oh, and just one more thing.....the US is not a theocracy. What any church believes to be the right political move doesn't make a bit of difference. And really, if they want to serve the poor in other countries.....they are more then welcome to do just that by organizing mission trips, sending money and goods to third world countries etc....If they want to change immigration laws then they can attempt to get members elected to the senate.

That is what we have judge's and Jury's for. If you think the churches are commiting a crime, call the border patrol or of course the sheriff.

btw The churches do help the poor in other countries including Mexico.
