Not 'spy boxes': digital to analog TV signal converter boxes for over the air broadcasts.

Analog TV broadcasting is coming to an end this upcoming February.

i still dont understand why we need them i mean i have digital phone but i dont need a special box to use the phone. i mean they couldnt go digital a without the use of some box with all the technology we have...

Again: analog TV broadcast signals are ending in at least the USA this upcoming February to free up more space on the broadcast spectrum for emergency communications, etc.
